We spent my (Meghan) birthday weekend in Whistler on our first grown-up vacation. Eric booked the trip back in November which was amazing—our hotel was ski in/ski out with a fantastic hot tub and pool and we had three days worth of lift tickets included.
Our first day on the slopes were kind-of miserable. Lots of rain and they ended up closing the top of the mountain due to high winds. But our second day was amazing. Powdery, blue skies, empty runs. We skied top to bottom on both the Whistler and Blackcomb sides of the mountain, and of course rode the Peak to Peak gondola. For my birthday dinner, my parents got us a reservation and a gift certificate to Araxia—easily the fanciest restaurant I have ever been to. The service was incredible and the food was even better. It was a wonderful way to turn 24.
